| 要 旨 | アジア・オセアニアの島嶼部においてトウガラシ属の遺伝資源・文化資源の調査をおこなっている。キダチトウガラシの南西諸島への伝播にアジア・オセアニアの島嶼部がどのように関与しているかを植物学的に明らかにし、南西諸島系統が新大陸から「島伝い」に伝播したという仮説の検証をおこっている。また、トウガラシ属の文化資源（トウガラシ属の呼称、食文化（香辛料、果実以外の利用の有無、系統による味・辛味・嗜好性の違いなど）、酒文化、薬用、儀礼、禁忌など）を地域間・民族間で比較検討し、その類型化を試み、新大陸起源の栽培植物が旧大陸の文化要素にどのように取り込まれているのかを民族学的に明らかにする。 |
